Is BackerPacker free?
Yes. Logging, offline use, every currency, the runway, visa days, the journal, two trip card designs, import and export are free, with no time limit and no cap on spends. BackerPacker Plus adds All your travels, with every trip on one map, and four more card designs. The App Store shows the price for your country.
How does Plus work?
Plus is a single payment for life, or a 90-day trip pass that never renews, so there's nothing to cancel. When a pass ends, everything you recorded stays.
Does BackerPacker work offline?
Yes. Adding spends, the runway, visa days and the journal work with no signal. Exchange rates and finding the country you're in need a connection, and waiting spends convert when you're back online.
How does it count Schengen days?
It counts 90 days in any 180 from the stops on your route, with the day you arrive and the day you leave both counted. Then it shows the last day you can stay. It's a planning aid, not legal advice.
Can I bring in spends from another app?
Yes. Import a CSV file from TravelSpend, Splitwise, Tricount or a spreadsheet, and export every spend as CSV whenever you like.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account, advertising, analytics or tracking. Your trips stay on your device and don't sync, and your photos never leave your library.
Which devices does BackerPacker work on?
iPhone with iOS 26 or later and iPad with iPadOS 26 or later. A widget shows your runway and visa days, and you can add a spend from Control Center, the Action button or Siri.
